Overheating in the HOT
okay okay, so i guess h-t is a place to get help. Yall h-t'ers are a great help. I read about 3 cases of overHeating the problem sloving from yall are great, they all seem to help and Im here to add to it. 
in my situation, (My car is btw a 94 integra) it over heats within 10 min of the ride..i turn the heater on, and head back to my house witch by the way my heat is now half way up. So i accidently took the street way instead of the hwy b/c for some sort reason and now by the time i get like 3 blocks to my house it reached the RED. I panic b/c i thought my car was going to blow but luckly it didnt. my car returned safely sitting on my drive way now . What i have done recently was, I bought some radiant coolent added 3/4 of it. hope yall can help...hopfully its nothing serious that i have to spend major money on.

Why did you add the coolant? Was it low?
You may have a leak if that's the case, keep an eye out for fluid on the ground or hoses. Also your thermostat might be stuck closed, so the fluid can't flow through the system and radiator. In addition you could have a blockage of sediment.
The easiest thing to try is replacing the thermostat and flushing the cooling system. Also check for leaks prior to this.

okay thanks man...well i added coolant because the secondary one was out and everytime i added water to it, it would bubble up and spill out of it due to the engine being to hott...I only drove it twice. first time i noticed it, i was near my house driving home from a 15 min drive away to the beach. The second time i drove it was in the morning , about to go to work drove again 10 min away from my house and got half way HOt so i drove back.. so your saying its the thermostat also?
how do i go about changing the thermostat? any body have any pictures They have got to be a thread about this..hELPP!! going to do this today! Hopfully this gets answered b4 i come back from buying a thermostat from honda.
Might be a good idea to pick up a service manual for you car if you're not sure on how to replace the thermostat and flush the system. A good one would also have tips for troubleshooting the problem (Helms, Haynes, etc...)
When you say the secondary was low, do you mean the bottle behind the passenger side headlight? To my knowledge, that's the coolant overflow, which actually is supposed to be empty. If that fills up it would signal a blockage or a stuck closed thermostat.
I can't say for sure if the T-stat if your issue, but it's one of those things that is worth starting out with because it's a cheap fix, with only a couple hours of your time to install it.
Maybe someone can verify the coolant bottle behind the headlights purpose?

Yeah bleed the sys good. the air in the sys cause cause high idle or surges in the idle cause of the air getting trapped around your IAC valve or your Thermo Fast idle valve.

Never run 20/80 mix. In hot weather you should use a 60% water and 40% antifreeze. During the winter run 50/50 unless you live in a very cold place like Alaska where you will need 40% water and 60% antifreeze. You see antifreeze(coolant) is a poor conductor of heat, water is a good conductor of heat and if you use more antifreeze than water in your mix your engine will have some cooling problems. This is especially true when your radiator is old and may have some blocked lines.
Actually you should always run a 50/50 mix, that is what honda recomends. cause antifreeze actually changes your water boiling point and freezing point to much coolant is not good and less isn't either.
