What should I pay for a new si sedan???
Today I went to the honda stealership and they quoted me $23,855 for a base model. I told them that sounds a little on the high side that I going to do some research come back and make them an offer.
Im in the market for a new si sedan with no options. Base model
I am also going to put $5,000 down and finance the rest.
What should I be paying???
Thanks Nick
got mine for $22,427 out the door with tax and license fees. but it would be like $25,405 after paying it off with interests.
Go with the MSRP and invoice price of them?
Is this your first time buying a new car?
A dealership honestly won't care what some anonymous person on the internet paid for the car across the country. Seriously, they won't.
They'll tell you "Ok, that's fine, then you can buy a car from their dealership to save $1000"
Go with the MSRP and the invoice pricing. Try to talk them down to invoice. Go at the end of the month when they're trying to clear them out, etc. And you'll probably want more than a $5k down on a ~23k car
They'll be looking at your credit history as well obviously if you're putting 5k down you're financing a good chunk. Put down more and see if you can talk them down from MSRP to invoice. Because you WON'T get an SI below invoice, it's not a Ford

I would say for a NEW one (make sure it has less than 50 miles on it) with no options, no accessories, to not pay more than $22,000 for the car. MSRP is what, 21,900 now? Just shop around though, you should be able to get one for a decent price, even new. If you are dedicated to a certain color, you may end up paying a few hundred more by sticking to one dealer, but it happens.
i have a brand new si and i paid no more than 22,000 for it and thats because i have the base model without the navigation. dont get the navigation because its a rip off.
Realcartips.com reports 11 prices for the 2008 Honda Civic. The prices range from 4% to 10% off MSRP. You can view the prices paid here:

I paid $22,3xx OTD for mine with summer tires and the window serial# etch thing (kind of pointless in retrospect). I would suggest getting the email addy for EVERY internet sales guy in all the dealerships you're willing to drive to and just send them all 1 email saying what you what, color, accessories, etc. and see who gives you the best price. That way they're competing against their colleagues for YOUR business. And contrary to what someone else said, you can get an Si for below invoice, as was said to me by a dealer... just not the one I bought from

Dealerships will tell you any bullshit to get you to pay the highest price. Be relentless and don't fall into the ploy of "were losing money on this car" or "this is as low as we can go". You can talk down almost any car by 3 to even 5k. My father purchased a 2008 Acura TL and we talked down the price for about a week and a half. They even came to the point and told us "sorry sir, we just can't go any lower. Hopefully you find the car you would like, thank you for your time." Sounded like the end of our chances, and then they caught us right before we walked out the door. We ended up getting the car for a little over 32k with 130,000 mile warranty which we had gotten for less than there least expensive warranty. To make a long story short, don't believe there **** and when you get to a price that you think is pretty damn fair...then take it. Don't settle for much to nothing less.
