Default 97 CRV rear storage capacity

I am thinking of buying a 97 CRV but it is miles and miles away and I can't find any specs on how big the rear storage space is with the rear seats folded. I have an upright bass that wants to ride along with me sometimes. He is about 6'4", real fat at the bottom, real skinny on top, and doesn't like to bend at all. Is there room in back for something 6'4" long? if not straight in, maybe diagonally? I am pretty sure it will fit one way or the other, maybe even with the top scootched into the space between the front seats, which would be fine.

Also, I can't find any info on engine numbers. I THINK there is just one choice for that year, but the VIN decoders I have found don't tell me jack. BTW, the vin is JHLRD1847VC012017

Thanks, Joe

Only one engine for CRV in the US. As for the bass, it'll fit. I put 8-foot lumber in mine all the time. Sometimes you have to get creative, and you might not be able to have a lot of passengers, but it can be done no problem.

you should be fine....there are two different types of engines...one i believe is rated at 127hp and the newer ones are 145hp...the one I have is a 2001 lx with the awd and it's at 145hp..older ones (not sure which years) are lower hp engines.

That's a 1997 LX 4wd CRV with a B20B - 127hp and automatic.

Yep, B20Bs and B20Zs, the latter having the most hp.

You definitely will have enough room with the seats down.

There's plenty of room. I do mobile DJ work all the time, and my first gen V does the majority of the hauling. Carries two 12" speaker cabs, two scanner light cases, and a 10x6 rack unit amp/mixer combo rack. It's also been able to carry 15" speaker cabs and a 37" plasma screen case with no problem. And when there's nothing to haul, my two foot long sub box takes up the space in the back.
