2006 Honda Civic Grinding noise
I have a grinding noise that started about a week ago. I was driving at a slow speed when I heard a metal on metal sound. My friend checked it out and said it was coming the transmission area. He took the wheel off and the grinding sound was coming from the other side of the boot. So I was about to take it to honda and it stopped. Next day on my way home it started again. Took it to honda it stopped and they kept it a few days and heard nothing. I'm sure in the next few days it will be back. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else or if anyone else has any ideas what it may be.
I have the same problem, it's a metal to metal sound everytime i am about to engage the clutch and the flywheel at low RPM and speeds. I'm guessing it mite be perhaps downshifting and braking HARD at the same time... as the problem only happend when i was about to hit another car that cut into the lanes and slowed down on a narrow 1-way street. have you done any heavy braking, driving or rapid downshitfting?
