Yes it definitely works. You may need to shave a bit off the shifter:

Just do a Buddy Club short shift kit at the same time, and you won't have to notch anything. I think that's the best overall answer. Unless you want to wait a couple of weeks, a couple of months, or a couple of years (anyone's guess) for Hybrid to finish their kit.
