My car backfires and when I'm driving, it smells like gas, some mechanic who does not have the right tools told me it might me the pressure regulator or map sensor but he wasn't sure, I just replaced the spark plugs and wires and he said the spark plugs didn't look like they had just been replaced when he took them out. Could the pressure regulator be the problem?
