my valves are knocking help
my car didn't start. i check verything and found out that the timing on my car was off. i retimed the timing belt and cams now my car starts but my valves are knocking i don't know if i have a bent valve or not. do i have to take off the head and replace the valves or is there another way to check it.
Have you adjusted the valve lash?
You can do a compression test to see if the valves bent, but that won't be 100% accurate. The best thing to do is take the head to a machine shop and have them check the valves.
