ok so i`m new to cars, and i decided to just learn everything by myself, if i mess up, i mess up. Learn from that mistake. So i have a 1995 GSR, and i wanted to change the oil since it`s passed the 3000mile limit. So i went to buy an Oil Bucket, A Funnel, and 5 bottles of Mobile 1 Extended Performance 5w-30, and a new filter. I Drained all the oil, cleaned the gasket, and screwed it back on, then i take out the filter, but since the filter is sideways, oil got on some pipes and wires, i cleaned some of it off, but i think some was still there. I Screw on the New Filter, Added 4 1/4 Bottles of the Mobile 1 Extended Performance 5w-30, and then i let the engine run for about 3 minutes. This was last night, so i decided to take out the car to go get some food, and i see white smoke Coming from my engine, i Pull over and it was HOT ! i looked at the Temperature in the Gauge Clusters and it didn`t move at all. so i drive it back home and check it out. i ran it down my street a few times and each time the smoke came, but a little smoke still came out.
Do you think this is just the excessive oil on the pipes and stuff just overheating and evaporating ? or is this something serious ? lmk asap. thanks in advance.
