Hi, I just got a 96 accord lx with a f22b2 and a/t tranny. It's apparently a very weak engine and I'm wondering what my options are. I want to keep it n/a for now. I'm planning on doing a manual transmission swap and basic bolt-ons i/h/e. I'm also considering doing any kind of cheap engine/head swap that would kick up the power of the engine a notch(suggestions welcomed), but i don't know the legality of engine swaps or car mods in general for New York state or in the US for a matter of fact. Could somebody tell me what I can legally do and if there's anyways around certain things.

 

If your F22B2 is that week, and you are looking to get rid of it. I'll drive down and personally take it out of your chassis and take it off your hands free of charge. then you can go ahead with your H swap

 

lol lets not get ahead. first i gotta figure out what to do. Are h22 swaps legal in New York?

And please do a search before asking questions like that.

 

I don't see why a motor swap would be illegal...? Especially an H22, which is just a stock motor from a Prelude.

Technically non-matching VINs is illegal. Just doesn't get checked.
