Default 00 Civic EJ8/B18C1 Exhaust Recommendations

Hey all,

I'm new to the forums. I just bought my first Honda off a buddy. It has a major leak in the B-pipe, so I'm lookin' to put somethin' else on it. I'd like to get something that has SOME performance to it, but mainly I'd like to quiet her down. It has a DC sports 4-1 header, a factory catalytic converter and a 5-zigen cat-back on it now. I thought about going back to the factory Civic EX cat-back... but I don't know if I really want the OEM 1 3/4" exhaust on it. I'd go custom, but I don't really trust any of the exhaust shops around here to build me something that will last.. let alone they are all Ford/GM people and don't take kindly to the modified import scene around here. Just wondering if anyone might have some suggestions on a nice quality, quiet 2"+ cat-back system for a B18C1 00 Civic EX coupe.

Thanks in advance.

Just wondering if you could ask your buddy what header he has on there. Im trying to find one that will fit my GSR swap and bolt to the factory Cat on my 2000 EK, and is it leaking cause it doesnt fit right or because of another issue. I think maybe a 00-01 GSR header is the right one but im not sure. Sorry but not sure what exhaust to recommend for ya.

He(I, now.. lol) has a DC Sports 4-1 header for the GSR on it. Apparently it wouldn't bolt up to the stock Civic converter.. So he hacked the flange off the front off the cat, rotated and welded it back to bolt up to the GSR header. This is also a 2dr Coupe, so I'm not sure if a hatch or a 4dr will work this way.

Also, anyone know if the stock 99-00 Civic SI exhaust is bigger diameter piping than the stock 99-00 Civic EX exhaust? I noticed from Honda the part numbers are different, but I thought that might just be a hanger on the opposite side or something. They appear the same in most pictures.
