Default T517z rebuild but looks like a t-28

ok, So I have the greddy kit for my ep3 and my turbo (T517z) is in need of a rebuild. I called greddy and they told me that they no longer sell rebuild kits and told me i would have to send it to them and then they would send it to japan to be rebuilt. That wont work for me so the next question i had was, what rebuild kit can i buy that will be the same for the t517z? They could not tell me. Next I called gopopshop.com and asked them, I gave them the number off my turbo and they told me it looks like a td05 rebuild kit will work and is the same. The question that i have is this. My turbo (t517z) exhaust housing dose not look like that of a td05, it has a t-28 exhaust housing. Even though the housings are diffrent can my turbo still be rebuilt with a td05 rebuild kit? Here is what my turbo exhaust side looks like

and here is a td05

There seems to be no info on the t517z and i'm really at a stand still about what to do about a rebuild or replacement.

Yeah it seems Greddy likes to hide the info on this and the t518z from the s2k kit. Really from what i have seen its nothing more than a modified 18G and close to a 20G, i would personally ditch that turbo and get something a lil bigger as the power from them is horrible. i did an EP3 with a cybernation kit and got 311 on a stock map sensor with hondata.

did an EP3 with a greddy kit, 268 at 15psi with a 3 bar

Problem is i can't fit anything bigger with the greddy manifold. I would need a treadstone or revhard mani to get somthing bigger in there. I have been tuned and don't have the cash for a retune with a bigger turbo. I just can't find any info about rebuild kits for this damn thing. It looks like if i bought a new t28 it would bolt right up.

The greddy t518z is a TD05h-18G turbo with a T25 flange/exhaust housing, from what I have seen. Since the 517 is a bit smaller I would assume an 18G rebuild kit would work.

Try this site, http://www.gtr.co.uk, as Greddy sells a t518Z kit for GTR's and is a decently common upgrade to the stock twins, they might have a bit more info. Hope this helps somewhat

The greddy turbochargers used are Mitsu/Garrett hybrid turbochargers. They use a mitsubishi compressor wheel, and cartrdige. The turbine housing is Garrett, as is the exhaust wheel (in some models) a Mitsubishi turbo rebuild center will be able to fix the turbo.
