Default h22a swap problems

alright i put a h22a type s in my 93 accord. P13 ecu is hooked up vtec is wired and vtec oil pressure is wired in to the ecu. what else needs plugged into the ecu?? The engine will crank and sputter but die. I just read that if there is nomap sensor no start. Sooo/ does the accord have a map sensor or what vehicle can i get one out of. is there anything else preventing it from starting

Yes you need a map sensor. Yes the Accord has a MAP. It's the black plastic sensor mounted to the top of the throttle body.

You can use the accord map as well as any other Honda MAP sensor off any throttle body. You will probably have to mount yours remotely and run a vacuum hose from your manifold to it. There should be an available 3 wire connector on your wiring harness that will fit any Honda MAP sensor.

Some JDM & USDM Honda's used to use a remote vacuum center (Control Box) with the vacuum sensors in one box. This was mounted to the firewall. The newer engines have the MAP sensor mounted directly to the tops of the throttle body. So if you don't have one mounted to the H22A throttle body and there isn't a mounting hole there. You will need to use your Accord MAP.

it should. the accord map is on top of the tb. the prelude is genreally attached to the firewall so you will have to take the map off the tb or one what was suppled with the swap and run a vacume line from the back of the im to the back of the map and another vacume line from the bottom of the map to the vacume port on the tb.

hope that helps

its not on top the accord throttle body so it would have to be on the firewall but i don't know where

Accord one is mounted on a metal hanger behind the TB.

H22A one is mounted in top of the TB (screwed in) closer to the head itself, there should be 2 vacuum leads right there, plug one and use the other for the MAP.

You can just use a longer vacuum hose and connect it to the Accord one.

I believe this is how all the cool kids do it.

I wanted to be cool, so I connect my map sensor this way.
