Key chime wont stop, and doors keep unlocking themselfs.. ideas?
Today was the first day I've ever seen this problem.
Once I got to work, I turned off my car, pulled out the key, and noticed the chime was still going off. I thought maybe the ignition was stuck, so i put the key in, turned it over, turned it off, pulled the key out, and it kept doing off. I was gonna be late for work, so I left the car alone and walked away.
Well I get back into my car after work and I notice its still chiming without the key in, just the open door.. Kind of annoying, but I can deal with it.
The real problem starts when I pulled into my driveway, once again it was still going off once I took the key out, but what I noticed is I'll press lock on the auto locks and it wont do anything. Then if I go and press the locks shut manually, it just goes right back and unlocks itself. So now my door wont lock (which is a HUGE problem).
Does anyone have any ideas or ever encountered this before? its a 96 si trim.
I thought maybe the factory security was going off or something (if they even have security, i honestly dont know) but my horn is removed so I cant tell if its trying to honk.

it thinks that your key is still in the ignition, try tapping the outside of the key cylinder. and to lock the car, lock it from the outside w/ the doors closed. it only unlocks because it thinks you're forgetting ur keys in the car and locking urself out. so with the door closed, it will lock.
Nice. Wow. Simple. I thought my electrical system was all effed up or something. Thats a nifty feature to the car though, I guess I'll never lock myself out.
did tapping it turn it off? and you might still lock urself out.. i did before, but it was because i had to get my backpack from the rearseat and set the keys down in the cupholder so i could reach back. I got out of the car and locked it only to realize my keys were in there.. luckily I was at home where my valet key is.
so.... umm..... im gonna have to ask for 5$ through paypal or a nice thank you
