well last night i finally got the track. and i finally was able to make a run without breaking anything....most of the runs were 15.0 or 14.9 but my best was a 14.7....
60ft 2.256
1/4 14.753
mph 95.37
the car spun a lot. I had to drop it at around 2k just to keep wheel spin down. second gear was all spin, and even third, had good amount of spin. yok's may be good on the street, but on the track they suck. never had much luck with them before. so next it seems get some traction, and mabeye lose a little weight, and a good tune up and if i learn how to drive, 13's look very possable

Yeah something is definately wrong because you are still doing stock lude numbers.. Your suspension setup seems to be not bad but you may still not be putting all the power to the ground.. I would suggest either LSD tranny and/or traction bars... However Z10 has yet to get back to me on whether their bars can be used on a h22 hybrid.
Back in the day i had the same problems. Put some slicks on and you should see 13's no problem. Lighten up the car a bit and with the right mods you should see 12's! Get that 60ft down to the 1.8's
w'dup brian..this is ian..jose's friend....i met you when we went to go talk to you about the h22 for joses car....i cant wait to take a ride in his car to see what its like...ill run him after were both get some internal work done...he'll see my taillights all day long...hahaha

i haven't even change anything yet. i have to get the test pipe made up. right now i know thats holding me up some. and some cold air wouldn't hurt.. don't thing i can afford slick right now, any thing eles that i can hook up with???
Damn....
I would have expected better times than that. However, you said you spun all the way down the track pretty much. Put some slicks on that baby and I know you will see 13's.

what tire pressure were you using? Letting some air should help get a bit more traction, try 20-22 psi.

goodness....i sure hope it's not nearly that hard to get traction on the street? i never race at the track, but if it's gonna be that bad on the street i might have to seriously re-think my h22 plans...can't afford to run through drag radials like butter either
i have a hard time believing ur time. u pull a decent 60 ft yet u claim to spin through 3 gears. ur MPH sux even after all that wheelspin u should b pullin better MPH.
u should be into 13s no prob. my fren's 5th gen dx coupe with h22 and i/h/e untuned on nitto drag tires ran 13.8 at carlsbad so i mean you should be in 13s no prob at all...dial in ur suspension and traction issues and have fun
I may be getting a prototype Z10 bar to see if it will have fitment issues with our
type of swap. If I can get it to work then I will let everyone else know of its availability, if not then I guess we are just out of luck..
And it seems to me that there is more that can be done without using slicks just yet to bring down your time some more.. What is your current setup on the engine and suspension??

well that was my time. i was running about 30lbs psi up front and made no adj to the konie's. this was my first time draging the car, so if i learn how to drive it, my times should go down. traction is a big problem, YES, i did spin a lot i didn't get into vtec untill the 60' mark. next time i'll lower the psi and try out some stickier tires. plugs are about two years old, so a tune up is in order. untill next time....
I was at the track last week for the first time with my new setup. I did 8 run with a really bad track(no traction). My best was 14.075 @ 101.4 mph and worst at 14.25@101.2 mph. This is with all the thing in my car and my big 17 inch mags
I had a lot of wheel spin to until 3rd gears else with RA1 in front. I will hit 13 really soon with weight reduction and some slick
The key is practice

is traction really a huge issue with h22's in civics? I was looking into getting one because I want a lot of power but dont have that much money and the h22 seemed like a good solution... would getting a better clutch help putting all that power to the ground?? anyone with h22s in there hatches have serious traction problems?
i got a question, in theory, wouldn't adding weight in the back help with the traction problems? I have a civic and got a comp. sterio in the back that is a crap load of weight and will be going h22 soon. Will i have the same traction problems? I know i will be slower, just means i gotta do more engine work, but will i still have horrible traction? thanks.

addin weight to the back will bring the weight off the front = less traction. and no matter what clutch you use if the a stong one add it holds, now the tires spin.....
3-4 years ago my friends took a stock h22 and threw it into a 98 hatch. DFI'd and tuned ran low 13 et's on a stock motor. You should be in that ball park.
Damn... when I ran my H22 hatch for the first time (like a week after I swapped it in back in Dec), all I had on there was just intake (even stock Civic exhaust) and some Nitto drag radials on some 14" steel wheels. I had consecutive 2.2 - 2.3 60' times since I had no traction. But I was able to pull off a 13.8 and 14.0 run with 18 lbs of tire pressure and stock LSD tranny.
What you need to run 12s (I ran a 12.6 @ 112mph a month ago, all motor) with this setup:
Huge 4-1 Hotshot race header (3" collector, running open exhaust), or any header or just run open exhaust
Stiff springs in the rear (or use metal straps to compress your existing springs so they can't rebound)
Good slicks
Good driving
We'll see how it runs with the same setup but with a 100 shot of NOS here in a couple of weeks.

My friend ran 14.4 with his H22a 95' Civic EX on stock civic piping and exhaust. Picked up the car at night and dragged it in the morning. Not bad from going sohc to h22a dohc

traction is what i need, and if i unbolt the header, then i should see 13's all day long. i am going to try to get a set of nitto drag rad. and set them up on my 14's. then we'll see what happens to the traction problems....
i just pulled a 2.0 60 ft time in my h22 civic on 1/3 bald "integrity" tires (175? 60/14) @ 33 psi tire pressure. my best run of the night was a 14.1 @ 99 mph with a 2.1 60 ft. i missed 4th gear on that 2.0 60 ft time so it wasn't a good time (15.5).
