Default need advice regarding replacement of the front sway bar links

Hey all,

just a quick question. One of the front links seems to be worn and it clunks a bit when going over bumps. I've already ordered 2 two from eBay to replace them both (just in case), but I was wondering about the best way to do that. I have access to a garage with 2 kinds of lifts - one that lifts the whole car (like a ramp) and the other lifts the card from the lift supports so the wheels are hanging low. I hope I'm explaining this well. So, which lift is best to use to replace those links, given the fact that the sway bar is somewhat compressed. Don't wanna kill myself when I remove the link and the bars gets loose.
Came to think of it, the sway bar should be compressed only when there is difference in the wheel height between the right and the left side, so I think either one might do.
What do you folks think?

Also, will I need an alignment after that?

Thank you in advance.

oh, the car is 2001 GSR with 105K and I just got all the belts and water pump replaced).

use the regular lift and just R&R them, theres no compression on the sway bar, you'll be fine.
