Default New Here 2000 EBP boosted

im picking up the car saturday, is a 2000 si with 70k original miles with a 50trim and stock internals. its on 6psi now but he says its easy to run 10psi. it has mass suspension mods and some other little things.

i was wanting an estimate of the following questions...

-estimated e/t in the 1/4mile.
-how much whp
-how many psi is it safe to run on stock internals?
-how quick is it in 0-60 wise on 6psi

any suggestions or commetns let me know, thanks

Its just bench racing asking how much power is it going to have and how fast will it be..you want to know then go dyno it and take it to a track..

It depends alot how well its tuned-Ive seen turbod cars that were slower turbod than they where stock just because they werent tuned properly..

I wouldnt go over 15psi or 300 hp on a stock block though that would be just asking for trouble.

As for 1/4 mile times that depends on many things..driver skill, suspension, tires etc

EM1's are PIGS (Fairly heavy) and its only a 1.6 liter motor.

So let me ask you some questions:

Is this your first car?

Is this your first honda?

Is this your Forced Induction Car?

Is this your first manual transmission Car?

How long have you been driving?

What kind of tires are on the car?

What profile tires are on the car?

Is the interior still intact or is it gutted?

15PSI is WELL north of just 'asking for trouble' man on a stock B16.

one of the 'stronger blocks' like my B18B1, 12PSI with 9.1:1 CR, is REALLY pushing the limits, let alone 15PSI on a 1.6 liter engine with a CR north of 10:1.

Ah I love all the noob answers. You cant base anything on psi. You can get different WHP on the same motor with same psi for each different setup. For anyone to come on here and tell you that you cant go over a certain psi knows nothing about what they are telling you. Just because "John Doe" with a b16 only runs 8psi does not mean thats all you can run. Everyones setup is different. I myself am boosting my stock b16 this weekend and for these knuckle heads to tell me that I can only run 10psi safely on stock internals is ridiculous. The best thing to do is go get it dyno'd and tuned to obtain the most WHP SAFELY out of your setup. 1/4 mile time comes down to driver skills. Good luck with your new toy and if you have any questions go to the forced induction forum because otherwise you wont learn anything from these people.

I ran 13 daily and 15 on race days on my SiR for over a year with no problems until the car got written off then I sold the whole setup to a friend of mine-hes been running it the same with no problems for almost a year also..but I saw a guy bring in a another SiR at work that he had for about 2 months on 7psi and he melted the pistons..
It depends how well its tuned and how you drive..I never babied it but if you beat the hell out of it you have to expect appropriate results.
