can i use a d15b7 in my 88 civic LX?
ok, so recently i picked up this ef sedan and 2 days later the timing belt goes out on me on the freeway when i was going 80mph. everyones telling me the head is no good. so my buddy has a d15b7 from his 94 civic dx laying around. he said i could have it for $50. he said all i would have to do is swap everything out and use jus the bare long block. my question is, would i be able to use that long block and be able to swap everything from my old motor to this new one? any help would be greatly apprieciated. thanks in advance
if i remember correctly the LX is a DPFI? if so you first need to convert it to MPFI, and then convert it to OBD1 by hard wiring the ecu and dizzy, or just buy the conversion harnesses. Im in the procress of dropping in a d15b7 in my 91 si, so im already MPFI. you can use the d15b7 manifold. and just mount your 88's tranny on it just move over the flywheel and clutch to the d15.
Yes you can I put a d15b7 into my 90CRX Honda Tech Member helped me out with the Wire Harness his name is monotech here is his link hope this helps

or you could stay dpfi and just swap IM and harness. you also have to change the driver side motor mount&braccet, tranny, dizzy.
