Default EF cluster swap question

I bought a cluster with a tach to replace my DX cluster. My old cluster has a piece on the back with a female plug connector that my new tach does not have:

What should I do? Leave it? Try to swap it out?

what happens when you have a 88 and want a 91 cluster in it? do you just swap pins to their respective places from the 88-91 cluster?
