Gas tank lid won't close.

I got gas today for the first time in around 6 weeks, and when i pulled up on the lever is stayed stuck up. So now the lid won't close. Whats the easiest way to access that cable so i can lube it up?

Nevermind, i was able to work some trusty ol rust check in from the outside to work it free. That stuff is ace for sticky sunroofs as well.
