Default help!!!!

hello all, i am new to this forum thing, so please bear with me.i am a service technician at a local shop, and one of my customers is having me swap a h23 non vtech to a h22 vtech in a 93 lude. new motor is jdm and has no crank sensor will this work with the us p13 ecu? also , when running the wires for the v-tech, do i have to run them all the way to the ecu? and last thing, the distributor on the h23 has an ext. coil h22 is internal(tec dist), what is the easiest way to make it work. any and all help will be greatly appreciated this is a $ 5,000 job, and a potentially good customer... eventually wants to do internal mods and tranny swap.

thanks
Dereck in baton rouge

welcome to honda-tech. In the future please give a better subject description in the "title" of the thread. just posting "help" will not get you better results as people who actually do help usually skip over these kinds of threads. Unfortunately i am the moderator and have to read everything.

read that for future postings.

now, for your problem. The jdm h22 does have a crank sensor, however, it is not located on the oil pump like 96+ h22's. All the crank and tdc sensors are located in the distributor. The usdm p13 is fine.

Some h23 engine harnesses are already setup for vtec, but its not likely that you are this lucky.
read this:

b series, but same concept

wiring schematic for OBD1 vtec.

for the distributor, convert it to external coil.

good luck.
