old b18c rebuild
My 94 gsr has ~145k on it, and i recently drove a friends 99 gsr and it feels stronger, pulls harder, etc. I think instead of gettin a newer engine, I'm going to go with the route of a complete performance rebuild. As in I would like to bump the CR up a bit, and in short create a NA setup that will be a good daily driver but still have alot of *****. Can someone please list the suppliers for every aspect of a rebuild i.e: pistons, rods, etc. and a good place to have this done because i dont trust myself with internal work.
Thanks in advance

Im guessing my question was either too long or too complicated for you folks...... I always thought of Honda-Tech as a very insigthful message board but this is

A lot of people will say do a search lol...but if you want to go with a daily driven NA car, get some itr or jdm itr pistons maybe even some del sol pistons, spoon head gasket, minor port and polish, itr valvetrain, raise the rev limit, vafc, cam gears and itr/ctr or spec A cams with a nice intake and exhaust system and get some tuning. HTH
For supplier, there are a few for jdm parts such as jdmhondaparts.com etc. The usdm itr parts can all be purchased from the dealer or online such as here or thepartstrader.com you just have to look around. The port and polish, I'd just get it done close to where you live for less down time. Call some import shops and see where they get their headwork done or ask someone who knows. Anyways good luck.
I'm in the process now of removing everything and rebuilding for NA also, so I can help you with some things.
IM me here or here bchang378 or e-mail me. Real-time is better tho. I can send you pics and parts recommendations.

could a motor that has over 200,000 miles on it run like a new motor just buy putting in new pistions and a headgasket? because bumping up the compresion and upgrading the head with better cams and porting it still causes a lot of strain on the block and just new pistons and a head gasket would help all the rest of the wear on the engine..
Sorry Im a boost guy and dont really know about for N/A set ups.. but with high mileage and boost the stock sleeves might not be as well seated as they once were

The cylinder sleeves would definitely be the weak spot providing that the block hadn't been heat warped. You can do a few measurements on the block to make sure you wanna reuse it. Measuring the deck for straightness and measuring the cylinder bores for out-of-roundness and taper are pretty much all you need to do up top.
Secondary weak point would probably be the crank journals. But, you'd have to work the engine pretty hard to be so far out of spec that you couldn't reuse the block. Different sized bearings can be used to accomodate wear.
