I've read through a lot of horror stories that some are pos. Has anyone had good luck with one? I need a car, it's seems like a decent price $13k w/64k miles. 2nd owner(old guy) & was certified if that means anything. It's the sport model.
I'm doing a PPI tomorrow on it but I do have my hesitations. My coordinator has X5 and it's been a pos (Always in the shop for this or that) but my experience is null with them past her.

Friend has one... dont think I heard any complaints yet.
Certified means that it has a 6 year/100k warranty sooooo i guess your warranty is up this year regardless lol.
Also sport model (not sure what the hell that is) but it doesnt mean much.

Had it checked out today; needs:
New brake pads, all
New tires, all
New belts
Looks like 2k+ right off the bat
Good thing is everything else checked out, still not sure. Got to sleep on it.

Well, I picked it up on Friday, got it from $12k. Thought to myself while driving home that damn, the intake is loud. My dad corrected me and said that a front wheel bearing was shot =/
So, after a trip to the dealer this morning picked up;
Wheel bearing
Front & rear brake pads
to the tune of $360
Then stopped by Autozone for some rotors, tack on another $110.
The wheel bearing was a breeze to change once I found the correct axle nut size 1-13/16"! About an hour was spent. The otherside took about 25 mintues from start to finish to change the rotors/pads
The noise is gone and the front brakes are great, probably tackle the rears next weekend. I'm really pissed that the dealer inspection didn't catch the wheel bearing, wonder why I spent $172 on it. I'll probably call them Monday and complain.
Overall, so far so good.

good buy.
E46's are good cars, they get a bad rap from people that don't know how to maintain them. a couple known issues for E46's are:
window regulators
front lower control arm bushings
a/c blower resistor (final stage)
sunshade clips
