cel could you help plz??
i just finished my mpfi swap with my 90 crx dx. i now get a random cel after 15-20 minutes of driving. i can get the code to come on if i hold the car wot for 5-7 seconds. it doesnt make the car run any different at all. i tried the old paperclip to check the code but couldnt get it to work. any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

i have a brand new bosch one in it tho so thats stumping me. when i turn the key to the on position, will the ecu flash even tho the code doesnt come on until after i drive it??
Yes, once you get a CEL it's stored in the ECU until you clear it. So at this point, even if you don't have the CEL on the gauge cluster, the error code is still flashing on the ECU. You don't need to jumper anything (I'm not even sure what you're talking about there). Pull back the carpet on the passenger floor and look at the LED that should be flashing on the ECU (there's a window on the kick plate that goes on top of the ECU, you can see the LED through it).

i checked my ecu and that link. i have 2 long blinks then 5 quick blinks then 2 long blinks then 5 quick blinks. any ideas?? i couldnt find that on that page.... or does it just mean i have five blinks....
si manifold, i had monotech on here make a wiring harness, its running with obd1 injectors to eliminate resistor box. it has a pg7 ecu. all the wiring is fine, i just found out that the two vaccum lines coming from the purge selinoid valve have to have a y connector that goes to the top of the tb. im going to the parts store to grad a y connector right now.
PG7 ECU doesn't have long and short blinks - only short - sounds to me like you have code 1 for O2 sensor and code 5 for MAP sensor - code 5 is for the mechanical part of the MAP, which usually means a vacuum line not connected
alright i fixed that code when i connected the vacums together. now if i hold it wot for 5-7 seconds, cel comes on. i took the car home and shut it off, checked the ecu for blinks and its just a steady blink. i counted to 100 and found it wouldnt stop.... any ideas guys????

o and there is a hose that comes out from the bottom of the throttle body... is that just a drain?? also there is one on the bottom of the iacv on the intake manifold wich i belive is just a drain. any help very appreciated

I believe that's a single blink repeating itself (meaning O2 sensor) as jlicrx had stated. If I'm not mistaken, the blink itself is only one speed (no long or short blinks). If it blinks and has like a second or so between blinks, that's a single blink. If it's anything else, it will blink as fast as you saw with the 5 blinks in succession.
FYI those aren't drains, I can't remember off the top of my head how they are suppose to be hooked up. Check http://www.pdftown.com for a Service Manual, download it, and look at how they are suppose to be connected. The Service Manual is extremely informative too so it's worth getting. It's the same one the dealership uses to diagnose and repair cars.

yes it has a second in between over and over again. it ONLY comes on if the car is held wot for 5-7 seconds wich kinda confuses me. like i saide the o2 sensor is a bosch, has about 200 miles on it. it didnt do this before the mpfi swap.
i paid 23 for the bosch one. if it was the o2 sensor wouldnt it kick the cel all the time?? and also do you no about the two lines i stated above?? on the bottom of tb and bottom of iacv on the intake manifold??

I almost want to say that they connect to each other, but couldn't say that with confidence.
For your O2 sensor, mine went bad and it would only cause a CEL every once in a while, randomly with no specific driving circumstance or situation...

The point was that it was bad and it wouldn't cause a CEL all the time. If you have a CEL for any reason there's a problem. If that was normal (5-7 WOT then CEL), everyone's car would do that.
i didnt say it was normal bro.... anyways on my way to school, i was driving like a grandma and the cel came on. i had to cut and hook together the o2 sensor to the one on my motor so im gonna recheck that. i cant imagine it being the 02 sensor because i put it in before the mpfi swap and there was no cel. my ecu is from an 88 integra so did them have 2 02 sensors?? or did they have only one??? thanks

they are supposed to connect together. and are definitely not drains.

k there is anotherone on the other side of the one in the above pic. i can see it, it looks like it is going down to something.... there is also another tube on the throttle body on the exact opposite side. is that for coolant??? because i bypassed it....
