well odds are your o2 sensor is starting to go stale, especially if youve got over 100-120k miles and its never been replaced.

or if youve got an oscillisope, you can actually TEST the sensor, but those cost about 2g's...

Chances are, if you ONLY have exhaust.. your gonna run a TAD rich. But nothing to what your saying. I'd say your cat is either failing, or your 02 is about to go.

UMMM what do you mean secondary O2. you only have one O2 sensor. Now your cat will not cause your car to run rich, cause you )2 sensor if pre-cat. it might be clogged. If your O2 sensor was going bad it should throw a DTC usually a 400 code. your O2 should read 0.7-1.0 volts in a rich condition and 0.0-0.3 volts in a lean condition. you could check the resistance check on it with a multimeter. you should have about 10-40 Ohms between terminals 3 and 4. Or you could have a bad MAP sensor. At low vacuum, no throttle, you should have about 2.5volts and at high vacuum, you should have about .5 volts. you can do this with a multimeter by back probing the connectors.

yeah.. secondary o2 sensor is not gonna change the performance of your car, it only tells the computer that the cat is working or not. your primary o2 sensor on the other hand can kill your mileage. a cat also shouldnt effect performance unless its completley clogged.

and yeah, everything H22powered_94teg said is correct. and i didnt know you could check the o2 for resistance, i just learned the oscilliscope.

my 94 sol has a 96 ls b18 and i am having the same problems.. with my a/f ratio gauge i can tell it runs really rich at idle and then falls totally on its face when crusing around a parking lot somerimes..... i have an apexi super afc but know nothing about it yet..

the motor is mildly built with an obx intake manifold and throttle body

one thing ive heard of is if your AFR gauge is directly on the wire to the o2 sensor is you can effect the signal to the computer.

Well I have had both the Apex'i Super AFC and the V-AFC and a a/f gauge. As far as the Apex'i goes if you are adjusting the A/F you are either shortening or lengthening your injector pulse width. Basicly how long the pintle comes off its seat, allowing less or more fuel in. So negative sign mean leaning in out and the positive numbers enrichen. It has been a while since I have messed around with the AFC and all since I got the Hondata s300.

But as far as the ls swap in the del sol, hmmm, what all did you change out in the swap everthing I am assuming. your car should run a little rich on start up till the O2 sensors cycle from closed loop to open loop. as far as it falling on its face just cruising around a parking lot. How are your plug wires, check them they might be cracked. what else does it do?

So which is it, do you have an OBD1 or do you have an OBD2? Or are you saying that you have an OBD2 car and are running an OBD 1 ECU? But how will the timing affect your A/F? I don't think it will.. You need to figure what your stoichiometric ratio if you think that your are running rich.
