i need a gasket for my b-pipe to cat connection.

im running a Spoon header to carsound cat and stock catback. what size gasket is this and wher can i find?

Any good muffler shop should have this gasket in stock.

-Tommy who wonders if there are any muffler shops that are able to cut any size and shape gasket you want. Hmm...

That manufacturer name sounds about right. I got mine from a local parts store. It's black with a silver looking ring around the hole. I hope I got the right junx.

 

Talk to SMSP; he sells high temp ones that are much better than stock. i went through 3 stock ones till I bought one from him and its been great. and I think they are cheaper than the stock ones.

 

I don't think my car had one. I'm pretty sure it does not have one now.

 

I think SMSP's are $4 not possitive on this though. I just told him to add it in when i ordered stuff.

Me too - my cat and b-pipe are just bolted up pipe to pipe - no gasket that I can remember.

 

Did you check for exhaust leaks at the cat-to-bpipe connection? I had a leak even with a beat up gasket so I can only imagine the leak without any gasket at all.

 

It basically looks like the 3 bolt flange, Its somewhat flexible but its made with some sort of metal.

Yes, but what color is it? I bought one from a local auto store and the closest one they could get me was a 2 15/32" gasket. It was black with a silver metal-like lining around the hole.

 

Its all silver, all the same material from what i can remember

Yeah, that's what I thought. When I got my TypeOne exhaust a while back, it came with the all silver gasket. Do they sell those at any national parts store? I don't feel comfy using the one I got from the local store.

well i bought one from the dealer thinking the carsound connection to the b-pipe was the same as stock and it was a metal ring. not sure if thats it or not, either way it didn't fit...so obviously the cat is 2.5 on both ends on me.

that gasket looks like it would fit the cat if the size was correct, what kind are those BSQ?

 

does it fit on the stock cat?

 

Yeah, just like those, only its a silverish metal color, hell maybe even the same type of metal material as a 2.5" donut gasket

The stock gasket that goes between the the cat and b-pipe is a metal hula-hoop looking piece and it's meant for the stock cat/bpipe connection. Oh yeah, they're expensive as hell too for what they are.

 

The gasket is from Jegs. Jegs list several types and in 2.5" size. Here is the link: http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...61&cgrfnbr=635 and they are called "Collector Gaskets".
