How did the transmission shift when it was being used? 50k isn't a lot of miles, but that isn't going to give an accurate account of how it drives.

450 is good if the tranny is good. also, what do you mean 2 sticks? if you are refering to the linkage, then cable trannies have them too. the thing to look for on a hydro tranny is the slave cylinder. it wouod be in the front of the tranny, near the torque mount mounting points.

hydro tranny's clutch fork will just be poking straight out of the tranny so the slave cylinder can push on it to the side.

a cable tranny uses a clutch cable to engage the clutch instead of a slave cylinder. so the clutch fork will have an arm coming out of it and to the passenger side of the tranny, and at the end of this arm there will be a small hole for the cable to attach to.

2 pics down is a prime example of a hydro tranny. if it doesn't look like that then it's not. any b-series tranny will bolt up to any b-series block, doesn't make a difference in the year.

I would check the Vin number on the tranny to see if it is what it really is. I was told I was being sold a B16 tranny and it ended up being a GSR tranny, lucky not a LS trans. You can check the vin number at carfax.com if you didnt no

first be sure to meet him at his house, so incase the tranny was messed up or stolen or not a b16 tranny, u knoe where he live and can go back, also be sure to make him write u a bill of sale as well stating the tranny is in good working order, b16 tranny, and not stolen. if the guy won't do it, probably he's lying. if u have a hydro tranny mount, just bring that and u'll know if it's hydro or cable. thanks.
