Default d16y7 frustrations

Ok, I'm slapping a d16y7 bottom end onto an SI head. I don't have the d16y7 head so I'm working with what i have. The problem is the head bolts from the SI head will not go all the way in the block (d16y7) like it should, giving it more height. With that I cannot bolt the head onto the block. So I order a set of ARP head studs since i might aswell do it now, I might boost it later on.

Same problem!! the studs are still too long. What gives? Is the d16y7 head different from a a6? obviously ? or am I missing something here. Anybody know?

yea its actually too long. I have about a half an inch left til the bolt meets the head. I called the honda dealer and he said there were 2 kinds of head bolts short and long. The problem with that is, I won't know if its too short or too long until i get them and they have to order it so, Im SOL with that.
