how much oil in my trans

Default how much oil in my trans

i have a b16 with a lsd y1 cable tranny how much oil am i supposed to put in and the only reason i need to kno that is because i changed my oil when i put in my new clutch

I believe its 2.5 quarts just get 3 quarts and use the fill and check hole on the side of the trans. Be sure to have the vehicle level when checking fluid.

1. Drain the trans using drain plug.
2. Reinstall drain plug. Remove fill plug.
3. Use a fluid pump to fill trans. When fluid starts coming out of hole reinstall plug.

Can't get any simpler than that. You don't exactly need a pump...you can use a funnel with a long/thin fill hose and do it from the top...takes some patience!

IF U DONT HAVE THE PATINCE FOR THAT I REMOVED MY BACK UP LIGHT SWITCHAND IT LEAVES A 1/2" HOLE IN THE TOP OF THE TRANNY. EASY AS HELL

Here' what I used. 1 Quart synchromesh, rest the OE stuff. Shifts great.

you can use the reverse light sensor to fill it but use the fill plug to check the level .it's on the passenger side of the diff use just a 3/8 ratchet with a 3 in or stubby exstention NO SOCKET when the oil comes out the fill plug put the plug back in

Penzoil makes a synchromesh, same thing as the GM synchromesh. 7 bucks a quart. you can ind it any auto store works fine.

thats what i use
its the same stuff u buy from the chevy dealer but the dealer **** is modified syncromesh if u look on the bottle all the tranny part numbers are the same.
