What is a good way to tell if your buying a HIGH MILE JDM MOTOR from a shop????
My friend just blew his d16z6 and bought a new d15b from his local import motor shop. And they said it has 40 to 50k tops, but i looked like **** and it runs like **** and they will not warrenty it at all.The motor feels like it has 180k on it! any ideas on how to tell the miles on these JDM motors? What can he look for next time?
when i look at motors i usually look for the usual signs of leak and quality etc etc.. and i always do a compression test before you commit .. that is the best way without popping off the valve cover etc etc. before you start digging around the insides.. if you are buying from website and stuff it is kind of hard to do that though so you are going to have to take their word and warranty i guess .. good LUCK!!
how can we tell if the motor is good and in running condition if it is not in a car and its pulled out already?
i have already found a guy selling a 2000 jdm b16 thats already out of the car and sitting he said it was running perfect but u kno every1 is gonna say that.... so i was wondering what i can do to determine if this motor is in good running condition? and how can i tell if its a legit 2000 jdm b16?
