89 b16 in CRX, alternator clearance, shorter belt?
I was hoping to find a shorter belt for my alternator to make it clear instead of pounding in that wall. anyone done that, know what belt to use? kragens didnt have ****, only one that was too short.
the reason i didnt is because i have an alternator in the way.oh well, i'll get it done tomorrow.
if anyones read my other post, i got all the motor mounts in and everything enginewise is fine now, but i'm putting in a custom made front crossmember (like Z10's but single armed under the radiator.) and that has required some custom spacers to get everything in right. Should be done tomorrow.
Then i'm doing the entire exhaust. DC4-2-1, Catco high flow, greddy/trust catback system.
Anyone know a trustworthy muffler shop to install the whole system for me?
Just do it yourself. They are not going to do a better job than you would since no skill is involved in hooking up the exhaust. I'm sure any shop that does that could do it for minimal money since you already have everything there. Just make sure to tighten the nuts on the header to specs so you won't crush the gaskets.
HAH!! forgot to mention, OF COURSE A SHORTER BELT CLEARS IT.
Any 300 / 19 belt will clear it, 290 and below will be too small.
If they made a 295 it would fit perfectly.. but they dont.
The pulley is a little close for comfort but with the hasport mounts and bushings in perfectly, the engine doesnt move atall, even on hard shifts the pulley doesn't scrape.
so there
