I talked to my local performance shop about fab'ing up a custom 3" exhaust for my ej1 h22 turbo project. They quoted me $350 plus whatever muffler I wanted to use.

Does that seem right or is as that as high as I think it is?

Edited, b/c I checked the prices quoted. The actual charge for the exhaust is $375 plus the muffler and the D/P (2.5 < 3" with a flex bellow) was $350-$400. Of course all prices are in SS.

 

That seems really low, I think materials will be about that or possibly a little lower. I guess it depends on the type of work they are doing though. If it is a full SS custom tig welded exhaust I would expect it to be alot more then that.

 

For a quality tig welded and backpurged ss system it seems to cheep, unless thats $400 for the exhaust, and $400 for the downpipe, thats closer to right.

 

DP price seems very typical, and the exhaust seems pretty cheap actually. If it's quality and fitment is good, that's a fair price.

thats cheap if the exhaust is hand built.
