question about tein springs ride height.
So i bought a set of tein springs, that are going to dropping the car 1.9 in. front, and 1.7 in. back. Now when i first ordered them i thought it would all good. Now for some odd reason i am having doubts. I don't personally have a spring compressor, but know someone who does, but i just don't want to have to take the old springs off, put the new ones on, re-install the struts, all just to find out that I'm gonna be scratching my **** all up. Im putting them on a 99 civic si, i figured 1.9 in the front wasn't too too bad, but i would rather make sure before i go through the trouble of putting them on to see. I just dont want to lower it to the point of needing to install a chamber kit.

i got tein s-techs on my 2000 si. the drop it great but i would not recommend putting the springs on stock struts...and yes...you will need a camber kit in the front.

what the hell are you talking about? i have had s. tech's on my hatch for almost 6 months on stock struts...they still ride fine. s. tech's are almost the only springs you can put on stock struts and not have to worry about them blowing out. and also..you will NOT need a camber kit...they do not lower it enough to need one. you paid WAY to much money for stuff you didnt even need.

i drive the same car as him dude and i put the same setup he is putting on. after the install the front camber was -2.45 degrees. so dont tell me you dont need a camber kit. and i only recommened not using stock struts. they're not designed to ride 2" lower than stock. if you wanna take the cheap route be my guest. just throwin out suggestions.

it would work but it's recommended to get aftermarket struts. i have tein s-techs with tociko blues. they aren't that expensive. you don't need a camber kit but an alignment will be needed for sure
Camber kit is not needed with under 2 inches of drop.
I agree with the struts (even though i am guilty not not replacing them). If your struts are in good condition then you might get away with it for a little.
I have done a 2in front and rear drop on new kyb's and it rides nice.

i hate people always saying you need a camber kit for a drop i read an atricle in honda tuning the explained the ins and outs of droping your car and the fact of the matter is pro racers use them to get the most out of their tires concidering how much they cost they want to make them last as long as possible so there i say screw a camber kit drop it and get an allignment the end
sorry guys i didnt mean to **** anyone off when sayin you need a camber kit. i have a 2000 si, same car as his, and i put s-techs with tokico blues. i work at a shop so right after the install i went to align it and it was no go. so i guess technically you dont NEED it but if you want the proper alignment angles, you will. ill choose my words more carefully from now on. sorry.
so is KYB considered just as kind of a replacement OEM strut? cuz if so then it would basically make no sense to get them because if i buy them then i mine as well just stick with the stock struts i have now....
