Default Shaving doors handles, acctuators and jimmy locks (question)

I got a 1990 crx si and had a few questions.

I am soon putting in acctuators into my doors, making them power.

Which doors handles fit on my handles, buy making them without keyholes. (I heard rear exterior accord 1990 handles will fit perfectly)
If none, how should I shave my handles?

Are crx's easy to get into with slim jims? This is just incase my battery does die, I need a way to somehow get inside haha.

Just adding some small security precautions

I believe the back door handles from a 4 door sedan will work. That is what I picked up, but just haven't got around to installing them yet. Also you shouldn't have to worry about slim jimming the doors if the battery dies, you can just crawl through the hatch. Thats my plan anyway.

yes sir, you are correct.

You need to swap the connecting rod, its the peice of the handle that the rod within the door connects to. The rear door handle rods mounting points are different, so you need to pull the rods out and replace them with the rods from you original (front door) handles.

Crap I must have stated something wrong cuz you misunderstood this.

I want to shave the door handes and the rear hatch keyhole also, to shave everything!

Is it hard to use a slimjim on the doors to open them again just incase my battery does die. I wanted my car somewhat inpenetratable

I would guess that they are easy to get into with a slim jim (it is pretty old), but I'm not sure. It probably depends alot on how good you are with the slim jim.

what some people do when they shave the handle completely, is to hook up some sort of release cable in a hidden/hard to get at location for when the battery dies.

personaly I just left the trunk key hole, so that I wouldn't need a special release cable because i see this cable as a security downgrade ( IDK maybe not if its done well). plus if somebody really wants to get in they will just break a window. i just focused on my alarm install, cause they might get in, but they wont go anywhere (without a tow truck).

make sure to undo or relocate your trunk release too, theives can use them to get in.

Interesting.

although I think the OP just intends to put door handles without key holes on.
is that also a problem?

Yes, I've done the rear civic sedan door handle thing as well. Installing the first one will take some time, but the second will take 5 minutes - it's simple once you fully understand the process.

I don't follow your logic, though. I removed the internal bars that you use to slim jim the car open, and have the hatch lock as my back-up instead. That makes much more sense to me than what you're looking to do.

here is the method i think he wants,i had my handles shaved off on my 90 integra, and had door poppers installed but i left the keyhole for a back up on the driver door, the door only opens up if alarm is disengaged with key though so if battery dies your screwed, and the hatch is the only way in, and if you get hit or get dents its gonna cost so it more of thing if your gna keep that car

, its alot easier and cheaper just to switch the door handles with a four door civic, stops a thief from jamming a key in and opening your door, but then getting in is only threw hatch, but i just had a shop put in a auto door opener not lock door poppers but it unlocks the door either both or one you choose its $80 for first door and 40 for the other but it helps so door only unlocks when you disengage the alarm, now my handle looks like this and the handles only cost $20, their where three more four doors left at the you pull i went too let me know i might be able to grab you up a set and you just pay me

A friend of mine recently locked himself out of his car when the door poppers wouldn't properly engage.

...ended up smashing in a window.

i did mine, but left the driver side, and on the other doors i put pvc pipe over the lock mechanism to make it jimmy proof, also disabled trunk key hole. But i had to leave the driver door with keyhole just incase something happened. Not a crx though, its a sedan.

to the OP:

if your thinkin about shaving it, you could always hide a button that could pop the door in the case of a lockout or battery dying. you could probably set it up to run on a small battery or somethin

i like the pvc idea to make it jimmy proof!! do you have any pics of that?
i haven't been inside my doors in awhile, but you can just look up where the window is and figure out if a slim jim will work. personally, i am going to install the power door locks, and disable or remove everything else in the door. probably going with keyless sedan handles too. i am leaving the hatch lock just in case. i really don't think it makes the car more prone to theft.

focusing on the alarm and disabling the fuel or ignition is a better bet. like it's been said, if they want to get in, they will
