hard acceleration=loss of clutch!!!!!!
heres the deal- i've recently noticed my clutch becoming a little "loose" - at first i thought it was jsut in my head or maybe because i jsut got a new pair of shoes and everything feels different......but thats not the case- if i shift from 1st to 2nd to 3rd under hard acceleration by the time i get to third i have no clutch left- i cked the reservoir and its full--- is my clutch is going out or what? any ideas or information will be appreciated..............
yes going to the floor....it has nothing but slack- and it only does this under hard acceleration. its a 95 model with under 100k miles on it.
Roll at 40mph in 5th, dump the gas w.o.t. What happens? Does your rpm rise, but not your speed/acceleration???
I believe "Matt" helped me with a similer problem a while back.
That's what he suggested.

rolled at 40 mph- hit the accelerator- rpm rose with mph- i'm thinking its not the clutch but a master or slave cyclinder........has anyone else had this problem? has anyone else had to change out the master or slave cyclinder? if so, how much was the parts and how difficult was the install? i'm planning on going to the coast in 4 days and i need my clutch!! any help is appreciated..thanks in advance........

Pull back the boot on the slave cylinder, should be able to see if its leaking.
Slave cylinder is easy to change, 2 bolts and the line, will make it alot easier if you have someone to help you bleed the system.

!!!!!!!!
the only thing your clutch slave and master cylinder do is engage or disengage the pressure plate with the clutch pedal. the second you let up on the clutch they arent doing anything anymore. not sure of the symptoms of a bad pressure plate, but it sounds like the clutch disk could be badly glazed over.

i understand if ur not on the clutch the cyclinders dont do anything.............however if u have a crap load of slack in the clutch i am assuming the cyclinders are out----when the slack occurs, i have to press to the floor on the clutch to get it to catch..... my clutch has never slipped- and when its acting up if i pump the clutch a cpl times it works fine...........again i am thinking it the master or slave cyclinder............am i wrong????????????????????
dude,
RELAX
with the car, off, pump the clutch.
is there a leak? does it get harder? softer?
the clutch should NEVER be soft, or get extremely hard.
the pedal should return on its own, if it doesnt. somewhere in the hydro system is [freak]ed.
