Default HX oxygen sensor help

i had engine code 41 so i replaced the primary o2 sensor ( had 215,000 miles ) i looked for a replacement and found that nkt o2 sensors are stock and that L1H1 is the stock sensor and i verified it by looking at the sensor and had L1H1 stamped on it.

now i have seen that the sensor had been updated to L2H2 and that the only diff was shorter wire harness. so i bought a L2H2 and installed it . but now i have check engine code 61 primary o2 sensor?

is the l2h2 not compatible ? it plugs right in. any help i would appricate it

L1H1 and L2H2 are swappable. I've run both in VX's with no problems.

did you buy the L2H2 new?

Either you didn't reset the ECU after swapping in the new O2, you didn't get the O2 plugged all the way in, or the O2 itself is bad.

I'm having the same exact problem on my HX. My car was running like poo (felt like it was bogging, or surging if I held the gas pedal steady at 50ish mph) and bought a NTK 5-wire sensor on ebay......

Seems to have fixed the problem, as my car runs much better, and I never had a cel before, but after I put the new sensor in, I have a cel now. But like I said, the car runs much better.

I scanned it and it said 'primary o2 circuit malfunction'. I checked the pinout from the female to the male end of the plug, and everything seems fine. One thing I noticed though is that there is 2 pins that connect to each other on both the old and new sensors, with a resistor inline. My old sensor read .29 ohms or something, and the new one read 2.29 or something along those lines. I can't remember, but I know they were way off from each other. I replaced the new resistor with the correct value of the old one, reset my ecu and had no luck.

So I'm stuck as of right now, but oh well, car runs smoother.

wich sensor did u buy on ebay?? more resarch and i found that we HX users need ntk pn 24300 not 24302 . the l2h2 is ntk pn 24302. so im seeing if i can return my sensor and get the correct 24300 sensor

The reason your car was "bogging" at around 50mph is because the car was in lean-burn mode. The reason it didn't do that after buying a cheapo o2 sensor is because your cheapo o2 sensor wont allow the car to go into lean-burn mode, therefore reducing gas mileage and inhibiting passing inspections.
