AFAIK I don't think a D-Series non-vtec crankshaft pulley will fit on to a B-Series vtec engine. Besides you should be using the stock pulley that came with your B16. If you are replacing it for whatever reason, you should still use a B16 crankshaft pulley. If you are trying to delete accessories like AC and PS, get the CTR crankshaft pulley.

you want to use the B-series pulley on your engine B16, and B18 make no difference for this pulley

i got this off the net but this is pretty much what my crankshaft looks like except the key slot is gone. this is off a 97 civic ex vtec.

this is for a b16a which im going to go with

there shouldnt be a prob right? unless the diameter is different in which case im going to have 2 get new belts. but this should fit into the shaft correct?

The one off of the 97 Civic EX vtec is for a single overhead cam D-series engine. Of course it won't fit your B16. The one you showed from hiprospeed is *NOT* a harmonic balancer. It is an underdrive pulley. I suggest you read this article about underdrive pulleys.

That one from hiprospeed is a cheap pos and I am of the firm belief that you get what you pay for. If you go cheap, your engine won't be reliable and you'll probably need a new crankshaft. If you must buy a lightened crankshaft pulley, the only one I would recommend is a Fluidamper.

tyvm this helped a lot, some guys from advanced autoparts and o'reilys auto parts kept calling it a harmonic balancer/crankshaft and i knew it as an underdrive pulley so i didnt know what was going on. im just going to stick with the oem pulley

learning something new everyday ^^
