Default JDM Distributor Cap the same as USDM?

The distributor on my JDM H22A motor is damaged and needs to be replaced. I am not sure if it is the same part that can be found on the USDM H22A1 motors. As we all know the JDM h22 has an internal coil while the USDM has external.

Also on a part like this, would you most likely stick with OEM Honda or are there good quality/reliable Aftermarket ones out there?

i would imagine that they are the same, both do timing in the same fashion so I wouldnt see why they would be different. however im not 100% sure i only delt with the h22a dist.

Is your cap or whole distributor need to be replaced ?

Just the cap where the plugs go. everything else on the dist. looks good but then again I won't find out til I start it.

If the car is already wired for the internal coil and you don't want to rewire it look around for a used one. Even post in the stickied wtb post. A lot of people who do h22a swaps use their original dizzy because they don't want to rewire for the internal coil. This in turn leaves a lot of them for sale.

To more specifically answer your question though, when I replaced just my cap I order one from a usdm 99-00 civic si. Although I don't know if they are entirely the same or just the cap.

I bought one from autozone 95 civic. It's exactly the same. As them to show you one.
