Default DIY windshield wiper lowering

This is a little tip I learned from a friend a few days ago. Some people may know of this but I didnt so I just thought I'd post a DIY. It takes about 30 seconds all together to finish.

The point of this is to lower the windshield wipers to the very bottom of the windshield so that they will be less visible to people and in pictures. Not to worry tho they will still get the full range of motion needed.

1. Remove bolt securing windshield wipers using ratchet and 14mm socket.

2. Wiggle wipers around until they pop loose.

3. Move wiper arm down against or right above lining at bottom of windhield.

4. Be sure to press down hard on the wipers as you bolt them back on because if you dont they wont be tight enough and will return to their original location on windshield the next time they are used.

5. Bolt the windshield wipers back on tightly.

6. Turn wipers on and test them to make sure they dont smack against the lining at the bottom of the windshield.

I will soon. It makes more of a difference then you would think. Everything looks better when its slammed down as low as it can go!

Just remember that the lower towards the cowl the wiper goes the less of the windshield across will get water cleared from as it sweeps....

Haha to tell you the truth I have no idea. It just makes it to where if youre standing in front of the car the wipers are hidden behind the top of the hood. Good for shows or like you said people that dont want to see their wipers unless its raining. Plus its 5 extra hp

Did something like this on my del sol. but instead of lowering them I just took them off and kept them in the trunk along with a 14mm wrench. And if you use enough rain-x you only really need them during really really bad rains. but otherwise looks good.

I have ebay coilovers on mine. My plans are to puy my nitrous kit on thats sittin here and do a rear disc brake conversion from a 99-00 si and get some 99-00 si wheels. Then later on I plan on switch my tranny to the 99-00 si tranny since Ive heard that it bolts right up. LOTS of other smaller things to. Let me know if you need any parts.

if you have the stock single cam in there you can not install a DOHC tranny on it. your ex tranny is the best one made for the 92-00 single cam motors.

Me three!

I use it on all my windows...

That stuff is miraculous!

I still don't understand HOW it works - looks like lighter fluid when you apply it...

Anyway, I don't really mind the height of my blades - the length is what bugs me!

question- do you know how to lower the height of how high the wiper blades go? they attach at the center of the wiper arm so to give 2 inches of space more at the top im losing 4 inches of wiped section. i have a 95 civic ex coupe, and i want to apply a decal above my front windsheild. but my wipers go clear to the top and my friends wipers took part of his decal off, and it says "HON Rac g" (suppose to say "HONDA Racing") lol... any ideas?
