i just swap a single cam vtec into my lx accord and it wont start...it cranks but doesnt start...theres fuel tho....any tips?
Was there any known problems with the EX motor before you swapped it in your car?
Check your battery, distributor coil, igniter, and wires. Make sure all your ground wires are connected (tranny, motor, and at water neck where the thermostat is located), and make sure you have no bad/burnt fuse.

check all fuse and replace blown ones....gonna try to buy new dizzy...and the ex motor i bought from local shop...GSPEED...
some f22bs used crank sensors while others didnt.....if your original motor used one and this one didnt that may be the problem

no ima try to get the car running first then get a vtec ecu and wire up vtec...cuz im using the lx non vtec harness
i did the same swap on my 94 LX and I had to rewire the harness to accept the new dizzy cuz the vtec dizzy is internal coil and the non vtec has external coil which means extra plugs on the harness
x2 ......to see if this is your problem take the wire that goes to your external coil and put a fuse in the end with the 2 wires side by side(the fuse will sit right in, thats how you will know what 2 i am talking about) then try to start the car....if it starts that was your problem
is if you swaped in a VTEC engine u need a VTEC dizzy and if ur using a non vtec harness u need to get it re-wired

yes you can go without wiring the vtec.....but your car will top out in RPM at about 4000-5000k because of it.....i wouldnt leave it like that for too long though

i noe i want to get it done..but i need a ecu just to test it out...anyone in LA have a ex ecu the wanna let me use just to start it?
As long as u have the Vtec Dizzy wired up and dont have the vtec wire up or the vtec ecu u can still start up the car with a non Vtec ecu....... sounds kinda weird when u read it hope u get it
ive done this b4 and ive done a couple accord.
what motor do you have the obd1 or obd 2
if you have a obd 1 motor wire the external coil and crank angle sensor (between main pulley adn intake manifold 4wire plug) to the vtec dizzy. Or you can swap oil pump and use lx dizzy and coil. too much time.
obd2
just wire up the internal coil from you external coil.
you need to use your vtec dizzy and wire it up so that you dont do it later when you get your ecu.
