Default exhaust questions for a b16

K, so my inspection is coming up soon and I'm almost positive I'm not going to pass because I barely did last year. This year I just did a tune up and I think I'm still probably going to have to change my exhaust. I was wondering

1) I'm looking at getting a header, DC Sports. now the dumb part of this question is since I have a b-series any b-series DC sport header should work right, i want a 4-1 whats the best one to get and where can I order it from? (preferably new which is why I'm not looking in the marketplace)

2) Right now i have a high flow cat, I called a shop and they said I should put a normal universal cat on there to pass. Should I get a normal cat or is there a good high flow cat that will pass emissions for sure. I'm not sure on what the difference between normal and high flow is except for the restriction in air flow, is the amount of filtration different?

I'm getting an Apex'i WS2 Exhaust for my JDM B16 94 Civic Hatch and I'm in Texas. If theres any other info you guys need to give me answers just ask.

I searched about the cat and there isn't really anything explaining between normal and high flow, only high flow and test pipes. The header I searched and it says DC Sport for B16 but I can't find that online so I'm assuming all b-series work so which Integra model is best for b16 in a 94 civic hatch. Also if it matters i'm lowered but im still about 4 1/2 inches off the ground

TIA guys

The B16 model for the DC sports headers (also any other brand header actually) bends "earlier" than a header meant for a 1.8L. Because the height of the engines are different. Both will bolt onto the head fine, but if you plan on doing a GSR, LS, LS/V, ITR swap in the future, get a header for a 1.8L if you want to use it again.

I'd get an OEM cat to be safe. I used a cheapo but regular cat on my setup and failed. Given its not exactly a stock engine, I'd still use an OEM one to be sure.

ebay

I don't know the specs of a EH3 cat. The DC header will probably have a 2.25" collector. Your Apex'i exhaust will probably be a 2.25" diameter exhaust.

If the D16Z6 cat is 2.25" (I don't think it is, but I'm not positive) then it should work. Otherwise, maybe a cat from a 94-95 Del Sol VTEC.

Buying a brand new cat from the dealer will probably cost a shitload of $$$$

ok, i think that a 99-00 dc header will fit since it's a b16a2 and i have a b16. Your right they are both 2.25" so im probablly going to go with a quality aftermarket cat that SSR performance can find. He said if i bring the exhaust and header he can find the cat. I would install it myself but when i got the car it had an aftermarket exhaust that is completly welded so it has to be cut off.

whats the difference between high flow and normal cats besides air flow ?

on my way to wikipedia to look

SSR is a performance shop, not a Cat company.

I think im going with a Magnaflow by Car-Sound 93505.

Team-integra has a writeup about cats and this is the recommended one since it is EPA approved.

So i think DC Sports Header for 99-00 Civic SI, Magnaflow 93505, and Apexi WS2 will be a winning combination. I'm also going to have them check my timing while it's getting that done. My friend ran over his timing light
