Default Cheap SS Flanges?

Is there such a thing?
Ive been through most of the vendors in the suppliers FAQ and everyone wants ~25 bucks for a SS 3" 3 bolt exhaust flange. The same part in mild steel is about 5 bucks. SS is seriously 5 times more cost?

The material is more expensive and it costs more to machine.

Cheap and SS can't be used in the same sentence...unless it's SSautochrome .
Prices have also gone up for SS and all steel in general.

SS costs quite a bit more the mild steel to start with. On top of that China has been buying up raw materials and all metals have jumped in price quite a bit over the last year. SS is also a bitch to machine even compared to Mild. Thats why SS is typically only used in highend stuff where it is a must.
