B16B OBD conversion
I got the motor and trany for 1k from a buddy. Its a 2000 motor with aprox 48k miles, LSD trany and all the needed bits and parts. I have the engine harness also. Im gonna swap it into a 91 CRX Si. I searched and I found out that its better to down grade the motor to OBD1 to make the swap much easier and to be able to use a Rywire jumper harness. Everything else is the same as any B-series swap. Since this motor is Obd2 I was wondering what I have to do to convert the motor to OBD1. If im not mistaking the injectors and fuel rail are involved.
Thank for the help

The injectors and fuel rail can stay. Just cut the injector resistor box plug off and connect all the wires together. After that you just need the said rywire ecu jumper harness and an obd1 ecu and distributor, and 4 wire o2 sensor. And you have to repin your dizzy plug using either the obd0 plugs or obd1 plugs. The wires match color for color except for one. Here's the diagram. (The thick white wire is by itself in the harness. The rest of the dizzy wires are inside the loom)
Obd0 to obd1 conversion at dizzy plug
Obd0------------obd1
Thickwhite--yellow/green
Thin white-- white
Orange------ orange
White/blu--- white/blu
Blu/yellow-- blu/yellow
Blu/green--- blu/green
Orange/blue-orange/blue
When you buy your rywire
ecu jumper harness it will come with complete instructions anybody could use along with pictures to help you. Any more questions

could you use a stock obd0 b16 distributor... or would he have to use a obd1 distributor with an obd0-1 conversion harness? ok just repin the plug and saves some money.
You can use a obd2 dizzy with a obd1 computer, thats why you would get the obd2 to obdo dizzy jumper harness
why would you want him to buy a new dizzy when all he needs is a $20 jumper, also just use the stock obd0 injectors and the box can stay, they are all 240cc whether obd0,1 or 2, so if you have stock injectors use them or cut up your harness and solder just to use the obd2 injectrs which wont plug into your injector clips anyway so you need to attach obd2 injectors clips in your harness as well. I would just pop on all 4 obd0 injectors and be done with it

i agree with jimmy he's got it dead on. took me a second to get what you were saying.
oh and no one has addressed the tranny issue. you have a hydro tranny. your crx takes a cable.. definetly keep that ctr one and just convert to hydro. haspot sells the conversion piece.

Yea Im gonna use the Hasport cable to hydro kit. So I guess everyone agrees that I can stay with my obd0 injectors and dizzy. Everything else is plug and play.

The reason why I don't wanna run Obd2 is so that I don't go through the hassle of getting more conversion harnesses in case I wanna run Hondata since it only runs in obd1. But I do understand this would be the more simple and cheap way to go.
As for the obd-1 ecu...am I ok with a P28?

Yah you can definately stay with your obd0 dizzy and injectors. The p28 is a perfect candidate
you can run the obd2 injectors and dizzy and still use an obd1 ecu for hondata. This is what civickiller meant

Sounds good. Thanks for the info guys.
Also I took the crank to the machine shop and i found out its bad. Im gonna use a GSR crank and rods. Is there a difference in bearings from B16 to GSR?
