ok to drive car with ac belt on and no ac lines?
Just finished a swap but I need some ac lines... I was wondering if in the meanwhile if I can drive the car without all the lines. I just wont turn the ac on i guee. The belt is still on the compressor. Will driving the car like this hurt the compressor at all?
i did this before when i had my GSR i was just all over in the engine bay one day that i remember taking off the fan the ac lines all the way to the cabin but called it a day at that drove it the same night and the next day till i got another free day i say its ok for short period just get it done all the way and dont half *** it or ull always regret it hope this helped a lil
I would remove the A/C belt and cover the a/c line holes with duct tape. This will help prevent air/moisture from entering the system.
Don't forget!
You always replace the accumulator/receiver drier when the system is opened.
Replace the expansion valve/oriface tube.
Add refrigerant oil to the system before charging.
