Default Oil Leak

Ok so im leaking oil where it seems to be coming from under the dist. I am going to look more into it this weekend, but from research most have had to either replace the o ring or the whole dist. if its leaking inside the cap.. The only thing that i havent found, is that while im leaking oil , and i mean a nice amount over a few weeks i have a nice little oil stain on a piece of cardboard.. but when i check my oil its FULL, could it just be old oil in the dist cap finally coming out? anyways im gonna be checking to see if theres oil in there anyways, just thought id see what others think about oil leaking but still staying full when i check the oil.

ps. it just started to happen AFTER a 1500 mile road trip. never ever before then

mostly, it just requires replacing the o-ring that seal the distributor shaft against the head. That is an easier and cheap fix.

But if you have oil leaking to the inside of the distributor, someone did a write-up on how to replace the internal seal in the distributor and also where to get that seal. The link can be found in the FAQ but here it is anyways...

So if you remove the cap and find oil, replace both the internal seal and the o-ring. If you don't find any oil inside when you remove the cap, just replace the o-ring and you should be good.

and the road trip thing, probably just coincidence, nothing more.

Make sure its not the valve cover gasket. Its easy to get a leak in the "corners" where it makes a 90 degree turn. There should be a dab of liquid gasket or honda bond there to prevent it.
