195/60-R14
im running them right now, and have been for as long as i can remember. its only going to have a slightly wider tire profile. but it is a fairly uncommon size, so you're going to have the best bet buying a higher quality tire t the 185-60/14 size.
I thought OEM was 185/65/14 for civics...
I'm lookin at the Kumho Solus KR21 in this size, but it's available in OEM, as well as many other sizes. I keep hearing good things about Kumho on all sorts of vehicles. I also get great pricing at my local tire shop who carries the name.

My 1999 Owner's Manual says 185/65/14 85S, blah, blah. Pretty lame with the y7 tranny.
I agree- too much sidewall. I ran 195/60 on an old Suby that was 185/70 stock with good results. Got an extra half inch of tire contact at all four corners and less sidewall.
I know that a shorter tire will turn more miles over time, how much extra drivetrain wear would there be?

I have been selling tires for 15 years and I know for a fact that P185/65R14 is the stock size for 1996-2000 Civics excluding 99-00 SI which was a 195/55R15 (+1 fitment). A P195/60R14 is 10MM wider and 0.3inches shorter in diameter. Speedometer will be off by 1.1% which is negligible.
Thanks for validating ^^
I think I'll give the 195/60 a try, first on the stock wheels, then hopefully some 14x6 alloys this summer. I am aware of the speed and actual mileage being off- it's actually 1.13%
. So no drivetrain issues to be aware of with short tires? Guess that makes sense since it's only FWD...
obuhmyuh- I am looking at the Kumho Solus KR21 for a good year-round, comfortable touring tire. They are very competetively priced get great reviews on tirerack. Fuzion HRi were alright (had them in 195/60/14), but didn't last very long. Hope that helps you a little.

Does anyone have pics of 195/60 on 14s, preferably on a EK? I'm wondering if it will look bad with stock springs...also, if I were to lower with prokit springs, ~1.5", would the wider tires rub? Thanks!
