Default How does the door lock stay in the door handle?

I just bought a new car, and the door lock on the handle was pressed inside the door handle.
I cannot figure out how to make the lock stay in the handle.

Here are pics of how it looks:

I believe there is a "C" clip that holds the lock in place. If you look inside your toolbox where the lock meets the cover it should just come off with a pair of pliers

It's actually not held in by anything, that's my problem.
So it has a C clip?
Can anyone confirm this so I dont have to take off my other door panel?
