Lunching questions
I would like to learn to race my car better. How do I lunch my car with little wheel spin. My 60ft time is 2.7 which is horrible first time I went to the track. I usually keep the rpm at 3-3.5k and then let go of the clutch quickly and press on the gas at the same time but my tires would spin horribly before getting traction. Do you guys find flaws in my methods. Perhaps I need to get better tires or slicks. But what successful techniques do you recommend? Another question, do you redline your car everytime you race? My car red line at 8k but I always keep it at 7.5k at the most.

The answer is that it totally depends upon your car.
One way to go faster is to never lift off the gas when you shift.
You also might try letting some air out of your front tires to get 'em to hook up better.
You may also try feathering the clutch instead of dumping it.
Hope that helps,
Jon

MAN there is no real good method for someone to teach you, you just have to learn it an dkeep practicing, you can always try a much higher RPM and just dump the clutch.

each person has their preference in launching whether, feathering the clutch or playing with the gas.
I have better results when playing with the gas pedal.
I usually dump the clutch and gas it all the way and then letting off a little. feeling the car move forward as it grabs and gassing it once I feel the tires have hooked up. usually net 2.0's on street tires(potenzas)
havent raced in street tires in awhile but with slicks,
just dump the clutch and pedal to the metal on the gas. and hold on tight. hehe.
