What exactly do people mean when they say "preload" there car.

ex "its all about the preload"


im sorry i just dont know what that is, or how to do it.

any help clearing this up for me would be appreciated

 

well first everyone is going to tell you to search "preload" and then this thread will be locked imo.but, in a nuttshell you r going to slip the clutch a little once prestaged,hold the car back with the e-brake untill it kinda drags into the stage beam when you see yellow drop clutch and hand brake

 

I think it would be nice if someone did a demo video on launching and post it on HT.

u need to come check out the garage sometime

and to answer your questions its just what tommy said, loading the suspension and drivetrain before launching so you dont IMPACT drive train instantly which shocks things and brakes things
