My 91 hatch witb b18 swap (hood problem)
I just swapped an LS motor into my EF hatch and for some reason the engine looks like its sitting too high. This was my first swap and I had no professional help but I am pretty sure I installed it correctly.. I was wondering if I need a new hood.. I havn't put on my old hood yet cuz i still have some wiring work to do but ya.. any1 else face this problem before?
for some ungodly reason it varries, I can't say anything else.
My b16 fit fine
my gsr no prob
my lsvtec... rubs.
all same mount kit.

Another option to gain clearance is to actually shim the engine down, rather than shim the hood up. This can be done by putting washers between the mount and the engine/tranny. However, header/oil pan clearance may be an issue depending on how low your car is. That is why I cut out the hood webbing. An SI-R style hood will solve this problem
yeah my motor sat to low so I had to shim up my motor works fine though and trust me u would rather want to shim up hood or rise it instead of being to low im 2 in off the ground and scrap every [freak]in thing. and ding the f out of my oil pan and header also if your motor goes to low your pully will rub on the bar below it trust me it sucks *****. well hope u figure it out.
I put the hood on, and it fits fine. Just needed to adjust the spring on the locking mechanism to make the hood sit a bit higher.
