Default New owner/member here...

What's up guys? I am kind of new to this board and the Honda world in general! I spent most of my past with Mustangs and Celicas. So owning this CRX is a first for me! I am in the Air Force and stationed in Fairbanks,Ak at Eielson AFB. I picked this little car up for just 800 bucks. It has its issues as with any other car! I don't care for the styling the previous owner or owners have went for so it's in for some changes!

The body kit installed is not my taste at all, so I plan to remove this and reinstall the factory bumpers and fenders soon! The car needs to have a cd player installed but I think I ma be missing a bracket since the whole is just open and I don't know how it would mount in there? The car has had a DOHC ZC motor swap done. Seems to run great around base (haven't tried hwy yet) but does smoke a little like it's burning oil. Has a CAI and Exhaust installed also. Not sure wich brands yet. My heater control box is all busted up so I am going to get a new one soon. My heat doesn't seem to work bc the temp *** is broken I guess!

It needs a decent set of wheels as it has winter tires and rims installed right now. I also need a glove box. The car has blue interior..REALLY wish it were black so I may work on that stuff! it has just had a new head gasket, intake gasket and exhaust gasket installed by previous owner, as well as new timing belt witch is missing the belt cover. It needs alot of work and a paint job for sure. Also not a fan of the tail lights so I am open to suggestions and pics of my options! Look forward to talking to you guys more!

Welcome!! The car has potential...i'd get the stock tails and bumpers for sure. Paint is easy, and i'd consider the stock blue paint. looks great inside the doors. but i'm with you on the black interior.

i have a buddy who just got transferred to Alaska...he's in the Army.

a junkyard there or uneedapart.com or ebay is your best bet for those interior bits. good luck with it, i LOVE my crx

Looks like you picked up a pretty good place to start

The stock blue paint looks good inside the door panels, I agree. Plus, it'd be cheaper since you wouldn't have to re-paint them.

As for your options on the body.. Just find the OEM **** and put it back on man. I think it'll probably look the best. The way it was meant to look-

good luck

welcome.
Your battery is very close to your intake, It could start a fire

You should either wrap your intake with some electrical tape (just in that spot) and cover the battery terminal, or flip your battery around so the negative is in the back. You will probably need some longer wire for that.

And as far as options for the tail lights, I have to say OEM, they fit very well and dont leak like the aftermarket ones. all the aftermarket lights front or rear just suck. Theres nothing that "looks" in-between OEM and rice, its just full on rice with aftermarket lights it seems.

You can manualy open the heater valve from under the hood, look for a valve on a coolant hose below and to the left of the throttle body, push the cable back so the valve is parralell with the coolant hose and valve. Thats full hot so if you still dont get heat it may be your heater core.
